Arrowtown & Bungy

Before I actually get started here … I did NOT throw myself of a bridge this time, I was not even tempted to bungy jump … if you want to see me in freefall – check it out here.

OK … let’s get going … back to New Zealand …

I started the day with a walk around town and through the Queenstown Gardens. In the afternoon we did head of for a trip to nearby Arrowtown with a stop at Kawarau Bridge – the world’s first commercially operated bungy jumping site – to allow brave Maya to throw herself of the bridge.

The most memorable bit of Arrowtown is the amazing venison pie from the local bakery … – no question about that … probably some of the best pie in all over New Zealand.

We had around two hours in Arrowtown – enough to explore the remains of the former Chinese settlement, the beautiful river valley and the little tourist shops – before we made it back to QT.

Today it was my team’s turn to make dinner … we went with a BBQ (lamb chops) with potato salad, green salad and garlic bread. Arie was our savior twice for that meal – he not only built the shelter for the grill (it rained while we were cooking) – he also generously  gave the wine for the salad dressing (we did not have the vinegar) – THANKS!
