Ballestas Islands

This Monday morning was dedicated for a boat ride to the Ballestas Islands. The island, a rough 15km off the Peruvian coast, are often nick-named as a small version of the Galapagos islands.

The Ballestas Islands are rich in bird life, including cormorands and Humboldt penguins (my first of many penguin encounter in nature) – all accompanied by the whiff of guano.
