Day 3 in Torres del Paine National Park …
After a cold night (-2 degrees) … – hiking from Refugio Los Torres to the Paine Grande Mountain Lodge with a (most important) side trip up to the Valle Frances (French Valley).
The trail was mostly flat, however became steep when we turned into the valley. Overall I found this hike the most enjoyable of all hikes we did in Torres del Paine National Park – the views (all directions) were just stunning, it was just unbelievable. This hike is surely one of the most rewarding, I ever did … with the dry tuna sandwich being the only negative thing… (must have been an amazing day, if a freaking sandwich is the only negative thing, I remember … or it was just a really bad sandwich … or both).
End point of the hike was the Paine Grande mountain lodge – which was far bigger than the refugios we had stayed in/ close to so far; it had a big canteen-like restaurant, a bar, a mini-market and even a small internet cafe (at ridiculous speed and high prices of course). Our hiking guide had managed to get a private room for the group, so we got some kind of VIP treatment with private seating and wine for dinner.
