Through the Business Center to the Museum District

After a good breakfast – American Diner style – I made my way through the street canyon of the business part of town up to the museum distract.

I spent considerable time in the Franklin Institute Science Museum, where I was lucky enough to get to see a special exhibition on the Dead Sea Scrolls; the museum itself was pretty child-focused, so pretty superficial, though nicely presented.

After that I continued – just to see the Rodin Museum closed for renovation – so it had to be the Philadelphia Museum of Art. After around three hours with art, I made it back downtown for a dinner and then made my way to the train to head back to the airport to fly back into the South.

At the airport I got my boarding pass, made my way through security – just to learn an hour before the scheduled departure, that the airline did not have a crew to get us down to North Carolina … so I finally ended up in the Philadelphia Airport Hilton (on the US Airways distressed passenger account) and only made my flight back the next morning … quiet and upgrade from a bed in a 24-bed dorm up to the Hilton 😉
