After sunrise we made it to one of the park cafeterias for breakfast. From here we shuttled over to trailhead of the South Kaibab Trail.

We hiked along the trail into the canyon down to Skeleton Point, a 4.8 km distance away from the trailhead and 628 m below the rim. The trail roughly follows an exposed ridge line and offers some quiet intimate views of the canyon.
