When I was asked if I was interested in a weekend trip to Milan in February – a week before leaving – I was slightly hesitant … however as the airfare turned out fitting, I just got booked … on a – relatively speaking – spontaneous trip to Italy … my first time in Italy since a not-so-nice family vacation back in the mid 1990s (not counting plane transfers in Rome FCO).
So we made it on a quick flight into Milan for a weekend in Bella Italia with good food, red wine and a whole city to explore.
The weather was in our favor – sunshine, temperature around 10°C – so we ended up doing an extended walk around town, of course with stops at the cathedral, La Scala, the castle and many churches on our way. Of course – not without indulging on Italian snacks on the way … from tiramisu to aperitivo.
