Once we had dropped Mark, Hanseatic did turn around and slowly made its way out of the ice field. Once we were relatively clear, the zodiacs were put to water once more for a cruise through the icy bits – a great opportunity for a comparison to the ice cruise from a bit more than a week back … pack ice vs. ice bergs.

A surprise was waiting for us on the way back, where a further zodiac with the hotel manager and some of her team was waiting for us and glasses of sparkling wine were offered. Very enjoyable – especially in these surroundings.

The day continued this way – with the formal farewell dinner in the evening, followed by the captain’s reception thereafter. Lots of opportunity to enjoy some good food, drinks and look back to a fabulous cruise, that was about to come to an end.
