We finally made it to Hoi An and as we were staying for three days and nights, there was plenty of opportunity to explore the town and its surroundings.
Hoi An was at its heights back in the 15th to 19th century, when it was a major port for South-East Asia. Today its historic center is recognized as UNESCO world heritage.
There are plenty of sites in town – from historic merchant houses (still owned by the respective families and some now open to the public), temples and the congregation halls of the various trading groups. Below some impressions.
