For this afternoon Sai had organized a trip to a small Inle Lake community, that – so far – is fairly untouched by tourism.
We made it by truck to the head of the bridge, that later on led us to the community. Small boats were waiting for us at the end of the bridge; here we changed into the boats (two per boat) and were given a tour around the community – getting a close-up view of the housing and living conditions.
During a stop we got off the boats and visited a local family. Here – over tea and some snacks – Sai was giving as even more insight into the daily life of the local people and their challenges.
From here we made it back to the small boats and then to the bridge – to now head into the surrounding hills …
