Today we had a full day around the 67th heaven resort.
The morning was dedicated to a hike to a Batak tribe village. The hike started after a quick transfer to the trail head (about five minutes from the resort by van). We were now looking at a walk along a jungle path / trail. The walk was mostly on even ground, though did come with plenty of river crossings.
As I still had issues with my ankle, I got myself equipped with two walking sticks again, which proved helpful especially during the river crossings and made the walk an easy one.
After just below two hours we arrived at the Batak tribe village. After being welcomed by the chieftain, we had a walk through the village and continued for a river pool – or an opportunity for a refreshing dip.
The coconuts, we were offered on the way back through the village – right from the tree – were equally refreshing … and tasty.
The walk back was along the same trail, as on the way in – so after another around two hours and plenty of river crossings, we had made it back to the starting point and got transferred back to the resort – in time for our pre-ordered lunch.
During lunch the weather took a turn; while we had enjoyed sun shine and relatively blue skies in the morning, the sky was now overcast and it eventually started to rain – and stayed like that for most of the afternoon and into the evening. So plenty of time for a book, a nap – or a dip in the ocean.
