We eventually made it to the starting point of the hike.
In the past this used to be a trail head with a hiking trail heading towards the village – meanwhile however there is work underway, to convert the trail into a proper road. So for most of the hike we were following a half-constructed road and passing through the one or other (active) construction site. Views and surroundings were still nice though – and with the road still under construction, traffic was not an issue.
The distance to cover was about 6km with slight ups and downs on the way; so after a good two hours (allowing for plenty of breaks on the way, including one for lunch) we reached the outskirts of Cambulo, to then start our descent towards the village and our guesthouse.
