After lunch it was back to the island – this time for a bit of physical effort – a short hike from Ghupana village to Natagera village – a one-way distance of 4km, slightly sloping (one-way gain/loss of 85m) – and a temperature of 30°C at high humidity.
First stop on the way was at the school about half way between the villages. From here the road continued towards the other side of the island and Natagera village. The attraction here was the local spirit house (entrance limited to men) – housing the remains and bones of important ancestors.
The way back followed the same way, yielding in an overall distance of 8km – and at least half a liter of sweat.
