After yesterday’s entry you may ask yourself, why I even made it here …. well, the reason is simple: Daegu is the ideal base for the trip out to Haeinsa Temple – which was rather high on my list of places to go to.
So, today was the big day – I made it over to the Western bus terminal by metro, to then engage into the 1.5hr trip to Haeinsa. After arrival I made the ~2km walk up the hill to the teample, to then head out and explore. I also ventured out into the hills, to disccover some further nearby temples. This being a “normal” Monday, things were much quieter and more serene compared to Bulguksa.
Haeinsa Temple goes back all the time to the early ninth century; since the late 14th century it hosts the Tripitaka Koreana – a collection of 81.5K wooden printing blocks of Buddhist scriptures.
