We finally made into Torres del Paine National Park, the van had brought us right next to the Torres Hotel – ready for our hike up to the Torres.

Overall distance (one way) to the Torres is about 10 km from the Hotel, with the first bit (approx. 1km) being flat, followed by steep section (around 4km), then another flat bit (2km), followed by a very steep final section (last 3km); total elevation gain around 800m. Overall a moderate hike with many superb views in great weather conditions (sunshine with some clouds).

James, Matt and myself reached the viewpoint before the others of our group … we stayed up at the viewpoint for around an hour, enjoying the scenery and waiting for the others. Then we all headed off, all the way down again.
