Grinnell Glacier Hike

Another driving day to reach our next main destination – Glacier NP. As we were on a commercial vehicle, we could not use the short-cut through the park via Going to the Sun Road and instead had to detour around the park – making the day roughly a 400 km drive.

This next – a day without driving … fully spent in Glacier NP – heading for an 18 km hike up to Grinnell Glacier (with a climb of around 460 m).

We got started not too early in the morning and made our way to the trailhead (with some confusion on the way) to then make our way up to the glacier. On the way back we were taken hostage by a bighorn sheep that was blocking the way for some time and forced us to bypass the trail.
