A day in Taipei

I spent today doing a long walk around town – kicking it of a with a short visit at the Chiang-Kai-Shek  Memorial Hall and museum, to then continue to Taipei’s excellent botanical garden. A quick walk got me over to the Bopiliao Historical Block (for some insights into life in old Taipei) and colorful Longshan Temple.

From here it was North through some of the more traditional streets of town and then over to the Museum of Contemporary Art (which was very limited, as they are in the middle of preparing a  new  exhibition to start next week) and then to the little shops of Huashan Creative Park – a former plant converted into a creative place. I was lucky to  get here (and under a roof),  as a  major downpour just started minutes after my  arrival.

As the rain had subsided, I made it back to the hostel (got drenched anyhow) and – after break – did head out for dinner (yet another night market) and more evening  exploration. Below some impressions from today ….
