The last few years the Easter holidays saw me on city trips in Europe with friends; this year I was staying in Germany for an extended weekend in Cochem at the Moselle river with my parents instead.

We made it to Cochem in the late afternoon of Holy Thursday and stayed until Easter Sunday. We used the time to explore the city, hike up to the castle and take a boat trip to nearby Beilstein to see the town and the castle ruins there. Of course, we also used the time to enjoy some of the great food and wine.
