We left the ryokan this morning and took the tram up to peace park and the area where the explosion of the Nagasaki A-Bomb took place back in 1945.

After the memorial we moved over to the museum, which gave insight into some personal stories (pretty tough to walk through, I had to fight more than just one tear), the history and future of nuclear weapons. I guess it is impossible, to get out of this museum and not considering nuclear weapons the most useless thing on Earth.

Overall it was a pretty sad and pressing experience … I was pretty shaken and decided to see some of the other sites of Nagasaki for the afternoon.

I started with a harbor cruise to then move on to the former Dutch trading post, which today hosts an open air museum. After this and a bit of excursion around China town, I continued following the stream to see the many bridges – with focus on Spectacle Bridge.

In the evening we had a bread-less dinner at the yacht harbor; afterward some of decided to get up a nearby hill (by cable car) to enjoy the views of town at night.
