From Chicago to Denver – through Iowa and Nebraska

This morning the group came together (Wendy being our trek leader) and we were on our way from Chicago to Denver. We spent two days crossing through Iowa and Nebraska – driving some 8-10 hours both days. The first night we spent in the Amana Colonies, where we enjoyed some Kassler Rippchen and Sauerkraut (all with a good American accent).
The second day highlight was a stop in Winterset, the birthplace of John Wayne. After a night in Gothenburg we went off for the last stretch on our way to Denver.
