From Coffins in a Cave to rare Elephants

I had a good night in my hammock, slept through and did not get too attacked by mosquitoes.

Before breakfast we were led deeper into the jungle again and then separated, to have some time in the jungle individually, to soak in the atmosphere and the sounds … unfortunately this also included chain saw sounds from a nearby palm oil plantation and car sounds from the close motorway.

After a simple breakfast we did another walk through the jungle to be finally met by the boat again for our return into civilization.

On our return to the village, we were brought to our homestay hosts – but just for two hours, barely enough for a cold shower (scoop by scoop) and lunch.

We now moved to Agop Batu Tulug, a giant 39m high limestone formation with three caves – containing coffins. We climbed up and enjoyed the view from up there, we also got an introduction to the caves and coffins.

On our schedule we now had volleyball – however there were rumors of Borneo Pygmy Elephants being in the area around the river – so we took our chances again and ended up seeing eight Borneo Pygmy Elephants. We also ended up in Borneo torrential rain on our way back – and again in an open boat.
