Yet another busy day was ahead of us, covering all the way from Wadi Musa (the town near Petra) to Amman – with multiple stops enroute.
We first stopped at the crusader castle of Shobak, after which the road went downhill – making it from the mountains down to under sealevel to reach the Dead Sea – with some amazing views on the way. After a short drive along the coast of the Dead Sea, we stopped at Amman beach for a float in the Dead Sea and some serious mud action.
After our swim in the Dead Sea, it got biblical. the next stop was at Mt. Nebo – where Moses is said to have seen the promised land. Moses was allegedly also buried in that area. Mt. Nebo today houses a church, a lookout and a small museum.
From Mt.Nebo we proceeded to Madaba to see the mosaic map of the region from 560AD in St.George’s church in Madaba – – before we finally made it to Amman, our destination for the day.
