The Ioffe was scheduled to leave at 18:00, the boarding meeting was scheduled at 16:00, consequently I had a near-full free day. I decided to go for a half day trip to Tierra de Fuego National Park to also see the wild Fireland. Before getting picked up I did another early morning walk around town and the waterfront.
Halfway into the park we had the option to change to the southernmost railway of the world – the Ferrocarril Austral Fueguino, with the final station of the train already being within the national park. Here we were picked up again by the bus and taken to some viewing points. There were also some options for short hikes. All in all really fabulous landscape, best described as “where snow-capped mountains meet the Sea” – yet only a small bite of what was still ahead of me.
