Tetebatu Walk

This morning – our first morning on Lombok – started with yet another walking tour.

We walked through villages, rice paddies and fields, though with different views and a different cultural background compared to Bali (i.e. Hindu temples replaced by Mosques).

The walk started straight in the fields on the other side of street from our hotel – this time with pretty good explanations on rice cultivation. During this walk we also actually saw the locals harvesting the rice – all manually without machinery.

At one stage we were invited to also give threshing a try … funny for a minute … but I am not sure if I wanted to do that all day…

We continued on – to arrive at the gates of Taman Nasional Gunung Rinjani – Mt. Rinjani National Park; now following the path through dense jungle to get to Air Terjun Waterfall.
