Nha Trang & around

We left Dalat and made it back to the coast – to Nha Trang.

The weather forecast was not in our favor, predicting heavy and fairly constant rain. Indeed the closer we got to Nha Trang the darker and wetter it got.

Light rain greeted us, when we left the bus for a stop at the Po Nagar Cham Towers – after a short tour we made it into town for lunch and hotel check-in.

I spent the afternoon with an extensive walk around town. Nha Trang’s resorts are clearly in Russian hands; many shops, bars and restaurants don’t even have English signs anymore and seem to cater for a Russian clientele exclusively.
I made my way along the beach, then leaving the tourist part of town, heading for Long Son Pagoda with its gigantic Buddha statue on the hill behind the temple.

On Sunday the weather had turned even worse … with constant heavy rain. We had a boat trip to an island with a visit to the island village and fish farm included – which turned out a cold and wet experience. In the afternoon the rain got even heavier (I have never experienced such heavy rain for such a long time) – so I spend most of my afternoon in the sailing club, enjoying some decent tea 😉
