This morning had a Buddhist theme. From the hotel we made it straight to the Enchey Monastery, one of the most important ones in all Sikkim. We made it around the temple grounds, turning the one or other prayer wheel and witnessing a ceremony in the main temple.
From the monastery it was on to the Namgyal Institute of Tibetology and its museum – with a collection of Himalayan Buddhist art. The first floor of the institute houses a massive library and a large collection of Tibetan works
Our next step was just around the corner, a short walk away – the Do-Drul Chorten, a stupa surrounded by 108 prayer wheels (which all were nicely spun by me).
