After the long drive yesterday we had a somewhat active day today. After breakfast we were picked up by the cars for a short drive to the starting point for a short walk (at less than a mile certainly not a hike). While the walk was along a road with a bit of traffic, it was good to be on foot, get some action and an opportunity to enjoy the views all around.
Destination of the hike was the Sanga Choeling Monastery, established int he 17th century. Things were quiet and peaceful at the monastery – and we enjoyed the visit and the views from up here.
Things changed rapidly after we did the few hundred meters over to the Giant Statue and the Sky Walk – people, people, people – things suddenly felt like a Buddhist version of Disneyland. The views were still good – the serenity gone though.
