Koh Chang – Waterfalls & Sandcastles

Today er a full free day on Koh Chang; I joined Sara, Anne and Kate for a waterfall tour during the day. We were first heading for Than Mayom Waterfall – using a songthaew as mode of transport.

Our driver had offered to wait for us for some extra Baht, we had declined, thinking it would be easy to get another transport. When we returned from the waterfall realized why our songthaew driver offered to wait for us – there was hardly any traffic, so no songthaew or taxi (or other transport) to catch. Finally men at a nearby construction site offered to transfer usto White Sand Beach in an air conditioned car for 400 Baht, we tried to barter down to 300 Baht – the price we finally got, but on the back on a pickup truck.

We had lunch in White Sand, after which we got another songthaew, now going to the other big waterfall on Koh Chang, Khlong Phlu Waterfall – this time without issues on the return journey.

We returned to the beach after our waterfall adventure – for some swimming and sandcastle building. For dinner it was back to White Sand Beach with the group – for a beach-side fish and seafood barbecue.
