Brasov

After a good breakfast in Viscri (with an amazing rhubarb jam) we continued our journey to Brasov or Kronstadt – a good one hour drive away.

Brasov is yet another city with Germanic roots – founded in the 13th century by Teutonic knights – over time complete with churches, plazas and nice houses with the center of the city surrounded by a massive wall.

We had ample time to explore the city, its churches (with the Black Church clearly being the highlight), the citadel and to use the cable car to get up nearby Mt. Tampa for a great view of Brasov.

In the early evening we met again for a guided tour around town – with a great focus on the city fortifications.
