Ooty Botanical Garden

We had a major lunch after we made it back to Ooty … a lunch, that turned out to be one of the better (if not THE best) thali for the whole four weeks.

Following that major meal a major walk was on the wishlist … so we finally ended up in Ooty’s botanical garden – in fact more a mix between a busy park and a botanical garden with loads of interesting visitors … from school groups in a good mood to a child leaving a number two on the walking path.

In the evening – without photos – some of us finally got to our first bar experience in Southern India. The bar was hidden in a back-corner of a major hotel, it did not feel as dodgy as the wine shop that we stopped by the day before – but was close enough. We were the only customers in the beginning, there were only tables and chairs, no real decorations (to make it look more homely or comfy), lighting was dark – so really anything but a welcoming place (at least to Western standards).
The beers were good though – and I never had carrots and cucumber as a beer snack   before … so while in odd surroundings, we still had a good time 😉
