Uunartoq – a hot and a cold Swim

Similar to previous days, the crew did use the lunch break to move the ship into another fjord – just in front of the little island of Uunartoq.

We made it ashore … and made it first up to the geo-thermal pool (with temperatures around 34 to 38°C / 93 to 100°F) – after a quick jump into the pool (accompanied by a sip of vodka or two), it was time for some serious work-out. Another mountain was there to be climbed – i.e. the highest peak of the island (about 400 meters of elevation). There were marvelous 360-degree views to be enjoyed from up there.

On the way back a nice beach (no thermal pool here) offered a good opportunity for a quick refreshment … before making it back to the landing point, where cake and apple punch (with a generous addition of amaretto) were waiting.
