An interesting bus ride brought us to the border between Argentina and Chile. Leaving Argentina was easy, entering Chile challenging – at least for some (e.g. what are dried fruit?). It took more than an hour until we could continue our way to Puerto Varas.

Now may Patagonia tour had started … and today was the first real day of the tour. Yesterday a plane had brought us from Buenos Aires to Bariloche; we now had a day for action. Most of us – including … Continue reading
Sunday … and more time in Buenos Aires … just right for the weekend market in San Telmo and more strolls in the quarters surrounding the center.
On my way back from congress to the center I basically ran (by chance) into a setup I had seen on the news earlier that week from Berlin. Styrofoam blocks were set up to become a giant domino game – and to symbolize the fall of the Berlin wall 20 years earlier on…
I made it to Buenos Aires after a long flight including a stop in Sao Paulo.
This time my holiday plan was slightly different, as I spent the first few days in meetings – with (obviously) only limited time to explore the city. I anyhow ventured out … some of my impressions below.
I finally left Kota Kinabalu and Borneo in the late morning on a flight over to Kuala Lumpur.
When I had booked my flight home, I did include a 10 hours layover in KL – to give me the opportunity to get into town and have a look at the Petronas Towers – Kuala Lumpur’s biggest and best known attraction.
I first took the train from the airport to the central station, here I changed to the monorail and made my way to the KL Tower (a communication tower with observation platform) to get a view of town and the Petronas Towers. Afterward I took the subway over to the shopping center in the towers … also had a look around there.
My last complete day on Borneo … which I spent going diving in Tunku Abdul Raman Marine Park.
Three dives gave me a nice view of the underwater wonderworld … unfortunately without photos. In the evening I went for grilled seafood again and enjoyed another fabulous sunset.

Another flight got me back to Kota Kinabalu; I now had two more days until my flight home. This first day I spent walking around town and checking the sights.

The tour was over … I was on myself again. I left the hotel early in the morning, went out to the airport and flew over to Bandar Seri Begawan – the capital of Brunei. The flight was really memorable, … Continue reading
In the afternoon we arrived at the finishing point of the trip (at least for my trip).
