Chobe Morning Game Drive
Today was an action day. We started pretty early (04:30) in the morning with a sunrise game drive, then we got packed and moved over to the border between Botswana and Zambia – destination: Victoria Falls.

More of the Delta …
Today we left the delta again, so first unsetting camp, the equipment back onto the mokoros and then back to the van and into civilization.
In the afternoon we headed over to the airport to go on a one hour flight over the delta and finally get an idea of its shear size.
Okavango Delta Walk
Later today we had the chance to get even closer with the delta – during a four hour walk. Of course we did not leave before getting an introduction on how to react in case the group being attacked by animals (run away in a straight line if …, zigzag if …, do climb a tree if …, do not climb a tree if … etc.).

Today we started our overnight trip into the Okavango Delta – the world’s biggest inland delta. Mokoros (local dug-out canoes) brought us to an island in the delta, where we were setting up camp.
To Maun
Today was a long driving day – all the way up to Maun, the gateway to the Okavango Delta – on the way passing through the Kalahari Desert.
Khama Rhino Sanctuary
Here I was – Johannesburg, 5 o’clock in the morning in a hostel – waiting for the start of my tour through Southern Africa.
Finally at 05:45 Stephan, our guide, driver and cook, arrived – and off we went into a new adventure – on this first day leaving South Africa into Botswana – to the Khama Rhino Sanctuary.
Segovia
Today saw us heading out for Segovia – a world heritage city about two hours from Madrid. Highlight of town certainly is the Roman aqueduct, plus the Gothic cathedral and the alcazar / castle.
