Today we made it back to Sihanouk Ville; same road, same trucks – but no photos… After our return it was time to explore the town and spend some time at the beach.

Phnom Penh -first Impressions
We made it into Phnom Penh in the early afternoon. After lunch the group separated. I started for a big walk down to the Tonle Sap River/ Mekong to get a first impression of the Royal Palace.
On the Road to Phnom Penh

Angkor Wat – Sunrise
We had an early start this morning – to be at the ruin site of Angkor Wat in time for sunrise.
Into Cambodia
This morning we headed off to the bus station to catch a bus to Aranya Prathet, the Thai town near the border to Poipet in Cambodia. From the Aranya Prathet it was tuk-tuks to the border post.
We eventually got stamped out of Thailand and (after careful check of our visas) stamped into Cambodia. After a quick lunch in Poipet our next transport arrived – from here it was pickup trucks for the journey from the border to Siem Reap (a drive of roughly three hours).
