We arrived in the late afternoon of the 4th in Las Vegas, enough time to get fresh and have a great night out.
We had a late start the next morning, went into town for lunch buffet in the Bellagio – afterwards we had a crazy taxi drive to the Circus Circus for bungy jumping.
The next activity also took us high up – we went on top the Stratosphere tower, afterwards we walked the strip – pure Las Vegas amazement.

Cowboy Camp near Mexican Hat
After the visit of the Monument Valley Park we were driven to Slim and Kody’s cowboy camp near Mexican Hat.
The cowboy camp included a sunset horseback ride (riding into the sunset on a horse – felt a bit like Lucky Luke), then a cowboy style dinner, line-dancing and roping lessons. We spent the night on the property, either in a Hogan, an indian tent or just outside. The next morning we were offered another horseback ride and a cowboy breakfast (breakfast tacos).

Fun in & around Moab
We did more in Moab than just visiting the National Park, on the 31st we were offered to take part in a Hummer tour through the fabulous outside of Moab, including an offroad track next to Slickrock Trail, Prostitute Arch and a sanddune.

Into the Colorado Rockies
From Denver we drove into the Rocky Mountains – higher and higher (also passing by infamous South Park). We set up our camp in a statepark near Ridgeway.
The next day was filled with several activities; in the morning we did a short hike (about 2.5 hours) in the vicinity of Ouray, followed by mountain biking tour (or better rolling down a mountain) in the afternoon. In the early evening we finally visited a clothing optional hot spring – a nice chance to relax from this strenous day.
Denver & the Rockies
Denver – where the fun began. After two days of cornfields, Denver was the first opportunity to see and actually do something fun.
The afternoon we had time to explore the town center – before we met again to visit a baseball game and see the San Francisco Giants win over the Denver Rockies. After this new (boring) experience we went to an Irish pub to have some beers and/ or ciders.

Chicago – Arrival and first Insight
I made it into Chicago some time in the afternoon of 25th after a 24 hours bus drive (Greyhound – leave the driving to us) from Austin, TX via Dallas and Memphis.
After checking in to the hotel and a shower (a must after 24 hours onboard a Grehound) I started walking around and exploring central Chicago – from the hotel to Navy Pier to the Hancock Observatory and back to the hotel (and some Subway food in between).
